I'm sure you want to know us a little better...I mean we are the ones that are going to be hanging out with you and your family on your wedding day! Your wedding day is going to be one of the best days of your life. It's going to be like senior year, except for funner! We want to be there for you...let's be F•R•I•E•N•D•S!
KATIE SIMOPOULOS

I got into video and editing back in high school. I took an intro to film class and thought we’d be watching movies all day…an easy senior year right?? We actually shot videos and edited them in class. That’s when I fell in love with editing!
After working for a few video production companies I found that I loved capturing the little moments. Things you may not be paying attention to at the time. I also loved telling stories through piecing together a film. Fast forward to fall 2013. 97 Films was born.
I currently live in Richmond, Michigan (Metro Detroit for all those who don’t use their hand as a map of their state). I have a 9 year old puppy named Kallie (Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix) and she’s the light of my life. Haha just kidding! I work from home so she’s the one that gets me out of the house and gets me moving. I love traveling, trying new craft beers, playing soccer, and watching my Toronto Maple Leafs lose in the first round of the playoffs every year.
Favorite Wedding Moment
The quiet moments while the bride and groom are getting ready. It's them looking in the mirror taking in a deep breath realizing they're about to be married.

My favorite weddings are the ones where the bride and groom incorporate cultural and family traditions in their wedding. I live in Smith's Creek (out in the country) with my husband Michael and three kids. We have a kitty named Pous! We love drinking wine from all the different regions but my favorite is Laughing Pig Rosé by Big Table Farm. I love sitting by a fire with friends, traveling to new places (Australia is at the top of our list), and watching The Ranch or any show that takes place in Scotland.

The vows and speeches, I cry every time!

I've been with 97 Films since the beginning, and it's always been a blast capturing the couple's special day. I live in downtown Royal Oak where I'm close to some fun nightlife spots, but also have some peace and quiet to relax at home with my girlfriend and cat Tiger (imaginative I know). I love filming weddings because it lets me be a part of so much joy, and it's a great opportunity to travel around and see what other traditions and cities have to offer.
Favorite Wedding Moment
There's a lot to choose from. When the Groom first sees the Bride or when they read their vows. I also like the first dance and father/bride, mother/groom dances. Then the open dancing is when you really see couples cut loose and celebrate.
