Let’s talk about the 97 Films couple. If you’re reading this...that’s you!!! (well hopefully....if you like drinking beer and watching Friends...you’re in!) Finding a wedding cinematographer that you have chemistry with is crucial! When you’re picking your vendors it’s important to ask questions. It’s kind of like dating! You have to find common ground and similarities in order to produce the best end product, in our case it’s your wedding film.

Filming weddings isn’t just about knowing the gear and the technical words- aperture, shutter speed, ISO, tripod, gimbal, transponster (that’s not even a word!) It’s about knowing how to handle different situations. It’s about being able to have meaningful conversations before your wedding. I want to get to know you. I want to know why you chose your venue or your wedding date. I want to know if you or your fiancé are huge Tigers or Wings fanatics. I want to know what makes you laugh and what makes you smile. Seriously- it helps me capture the moment!
There are so many times I’ll say something random but it’s an inside joke with the couple and they laugh and that capture ends up being one of their favorite parts of their film. True laughter is contagious. I want to know what’s important to you on your wedding day. Is it vital you make it to your cocktail hour to mingle with your guests or are you really looking forward to those intimate moments like your first look or first touch? It’s about knowing your client and what is important to them. I’m always on your team and I want you to have everything you imagined. I want to capture the moments that mean the most to you.

I want to know what your favorite movie or TV show is. I love Friends, Parks and Rec, Grey’s Anatomy, and the Office. If we can’t randomly quote these movies or shows together then what are we even doing?
You should LOVE the cinematographer you hire. I mean we are going to be hanging out with you on one of the most special days of your life? Let’s get to know each other and make sure we’re a good fit!

What does my bride and groom look like? Well, let me tell you.
Loves to Have Fun – I find so much joy in everything in life and I make it fun! I want my clients to find the fun in any situation. It could be pouring rain on your wedding day but if you can throw on some rain boots, grab an umbrella, and laugh it off – we’ll get along just fine! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. At the end of the day you’re marrying your best friend and your wedding film is going to be magical.
Laid Back – I love kicking it with friends, trying the latest craft beer on tap, and reminiscing on a patio. If any of those sound enjoyable, we’ll get along just fine.
Enjoys Exploring- Traveling is probably my second passion. There are so many places in the world to explore and I just can’t explore them fast enough. If you’re up for an adventure let’s be friends and travel together. Or at least trade travel stories and secret locations!
Most of my clients and I become quick friends and we remain in contact after their wedding. It’s one of the many reasons what I do is so special and unique. I meet different people from all over the world and hear many different stories. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Have I convinced you to grab a drink with me yet?
