Awesome Detroit Wedding Venues

Updated: Mar 7, 2020

Why is finding the perfect Detroit wedding venue so important? It is the backdrop of your wedding. It will be the place where you’ll say I do and promise to love each other forever. It’s the place where you’ll share your first dance as a married couple and raise your glass along with your friends and family. It’s the first place you’ll be in after being married.

I am lucky enough to have filmed at many gorgeous Detroit venues and there’s a couple that I really love. I hope this helps in your search for finding the perfect Detroit wedding venue.

Below are my favorite Detroit Wedding Venues-

Detroit Athletic Club

The history and elegance of the hundred plus year old Detroit Athletic Club is something I could never get sick of. From the dramatic staircase to the cozy reading room, there are spaces that cater to every style. This venue caters to the bride who wants everything under one roof. You can get ready in one of the on-site bridal suites, have a rooftop first look, dance the night away in a grand ball room and conclude the evening with an afterglow packed with coney dogs and bowling. Each space provides your cinematographer plenty of opportunities to capture your day.

Belle Isle Casino

The casino was built in 1907 and is absolutely stunning! Most couples have the ceremony outside and enjoy cocktails on the wrap around porch. It’s especially beautiful as the hot summer sun is setting. The way the sun hits the casino is the most magical back drop for golden hour footage. The venue has two floors and a marble staircase which is perfectly positioned for a grand entrance as Mr. and Mrs.

Waterview Loft

The river and city views are one of a kind at the Waterview Loft. The floor to ceiling windows provides the perfect ambiance for a black-tie gala but is also versatile enough for a less formal affair. It’s perfect for any season and has an amazing patio space for the spring and summer months. It highlights all the great things a city wedding should, and your guests will be talking about it for years to come.

Colony Club

Do you envision a princess, fairytale ballroom wedding? The Colony Club is a dream to film in. We’ve been in this space many times and it’s the most elegant, classic venue in the city. The third-floor ballroom is perfect for the traditional bride and I am obsessed with filming at this location.

Henry Ford Museum

We can’t get enough of the versatility of this venue! You can have dinner under a suspended airplane or in an elegant ballroom. It’s one of the most unique places you can get married in Metro Detroit. Every bride and groom that I have filmed in this space has loved all the built-in details of the venue. It’s the perfect backdrop for a love story.
