Katie + Riley had the sweetest first look at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island! I think we were all crying. It's so awesome to witness such an intimate moment with the bride and groom. And the day got even more sweet! Katie + Riley exchanged vows at the gazebo at Mission Point Resort, cocktails were on the porch overlooking the shores of Lake Huron, and the reception was inside the Cypress Room with beautiful arrangements designed by St Ignace In Bloom.

I asked Katie + Riley to share more about their wedding at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island!
Tell us about the wedding
We wanted an outside wedding that was on the water! We also chose the beautiful Mackinac Island, MI because the bride is from Mackinaw City, MI.
We had the bride's aunt officiate the wedding and while it was not in a church, we still have religious aspects to our wedding and made sure was a big part of our wedding!
We did mostly different colors of blue! We both love blue, so that mixed with different colors made for a colorful wedding!
How did you two meet? We met on bumble! He was the bride's first and only bumble date!
How did he propose? Riley proposed to Katie in Greece! He told her that they were going out to brunch and then surprised her with a photographer to do a shoot!
What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning? I wanted all my family and friends just having a great time! The band was a must!
What was your color palette and your style vision? I wanted modern but classic. For color we did different shades of blue mixed in with colors.
What unique elements or DIY details did you include? We made the ceremony unique!
What was your favorite moment? The first look was awesome! I would also say the first dance, that we took dance classes for, was perfect!
Describe your wedding day The best day! It was the day I got to marry my best friend! It was perfect!
What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be? Try to relax and enjoy the ride!
Is there anything else you'd like to share? No matter what, everything works out!

Mackinac Island is a beautiful place! It really is the perfect place for a wedding. All your guests take the ferry over and spend the weekend back in time. No motorized vehicles. Just horses and bikes to get you to your destination on Mackinac Island. It's one of my favorite places for a wedding. Are you getting married on Mackinac Island?
