Rajul from Blissful Weddings and Events took the time to chat with me about planning, coordinating, and designing weddings in Detroit. She has traveled to Chicago, Cleveland, and Miami planning weddings as blissful as can be. I have worked with Rajul at many wedding venues in Metro Detroit- Westin Book Cadillac, Waterview Loft, Renaissance Center, Sheraton Detroit Novi, and The Henry Hotel in Dearborn.
Although I can’t pick a favorite wedding venue, I can tell you about one of the first times we worked with Rajul and Blissful Weddings and Events...It was Heeral + Navdeep’s wedding at the Detroit Novi Sheraton Hotel. It was a multi-day Sikh and Hindu wedding. The ceremonies were the most memorable. Heeral + Navdeep first had a Sikh ceremony in the ballroom. In about 30 minutes Rajul and her team had flipped the room to host the Hindu wedding ceremony.
Heeral + Navdeep’s Wedding Same Day Film is one of my favorites! Editing a Same Day Film is pretty stressful. I have to make sure I’m getting the footage as quickly as possible to edit the film to play during the reception. During the wedding weekend Rajul made sure events ran on time and I was prepared for all the important moments of the day.
Now it’s time for a Q+A with the one and only Rajul from Blissful Weddings and Events.
How did you get started as a wedding planner?
I started in the industry with planning my own wedding. I loved planning, coordinating and designing that I decided to pursue my passion.
What is your approach to planning, coordinating, and designing weddings?
I love to get to know my clients on a personal level and figure out what is important to them so the little elements can be incorporated in their big day.
What’s your favorite wedding memory?
There are so many amazing memories that it is hard to narrow it down to one. My favorite part is when the bride enters the ceremony for the first time. It is such an emotional moment.
What advice do you have for brides choosing vendors?
I always recommend working with vendors who understand your needs, have experience, listen, and are professional. Sometimes you may spend a little more but it will be worth it in the end.
Why do you love working with 97 Films?
I have worked with Katie and her team for many years. They have a lot of passion for their work and are always excited to try different things to create a spectacular product for their clients.

What’s funny about working with Rajul is she will send us timelines for weddings months in advance. All year long she is working on the timeline of your wedding- time of your baraat, what time you’re walking down the aisle, allotting time for photos with your photographer. Rajul does amazing work for her clients and also makes the wedding weekend a breeze for vendors.
